Privacy Policy

When you submit the calculator, we collect:

• Your first name and email address
• Your annual salary and years of service
• Your role level and industry
• Your state or province and country
• Your reason for separation
• Whether you have received a severance offer
• An age bracket indicator (over or under 40)

We also collect technical metadata when you visit the site: a hashed IP address, your user-agent string, and standard server logs used to operate, secure, and improve the service.

• To deliver your result and verification email
• To generate and deliver your PDF report if you purchase one
• To connect you with employment lawyers, career professionals, or other partners who may be able to help with your situation
• To operate, secure, and improve the calculator

We may share your profile data with employment lawyers, career professionals, and similar partners to facilitate consultations related to your situation. This disclosure is shown to you on the email gate before you submit, and your submission is your consent to that sharing.

We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers. We do not run third-party advertising on the site.

Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or banking details.

We may also disclose information when required by law (subpoena, court order, regulatory request) or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LayoffMath, our users, or others.

Submission and report data is stored in Supabase (Postgres and Storage) hosted in the US East region. Email delivery is handled by Resend. AI-assisted report generation uses the Anthropic API. Site analytics use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4 in aggregated, IP-anonymized form.

We retain your submission and any related correspondence for 12 months from the date of submission, after which records are deleted from the active database. Aggregated, de-identified analytics may be retained longer.

Under PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, and similar frameworks you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for future processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

By submitting the calculator you consent to receive your result email, any report you purchase, and reasonable follow-up correspondence about your submission. Every email we send contains a one-click unsubscribe link.
